FAQs
What is coaching?
Coaching helps you set goals and take action to improve your life and relationships.
How is therapy different?
Therapy focuses on healing past wounds and managing mental health whereas coaching can help you focus on shorter-term goals. It is solution focused.
Can coaching replace therapy?
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy; it’s about moving forward, not treating mental issues. We do not focus on trauma but it is trauma-informed and sensitive. I bring my training with me into the coaching side of my practice to inform me of when therapy might be more suitable. I can also help you find a therapist if you are outside of California.
Who benefits from coaching?
Individuals who are looking for help with things like executive functioning, work transitions, creating short-term plans for business or life.
Couples who want to work on communication, connection, and creating healthy boundaries in the relationship.
I lean on my Gottman and coach training when working with couples.
What are your Qualifications as a coach?
I have a long background in coaching. I graduated from ILCT with my certification in coaching in 2011. Coaching and therapy are different and I lean on my training as a coach to help people with goal setting and following through on their goals.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
If you’re ready to focus on your future and take action, coaching can support your journey.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes, coaching sessions are considered confidential. Because I am a licensed therapist, I do adhere to the mandated reporting responsibilities I have as a therapist in my coaching practice.
